For Fountain Beverage

Chloramines Reduction Solutions
Why filter for fountain drinks? Taste, consistency, carbonation
Taste – Fountain beverages are 83% water. To control the taste you have to control the largest ingredient – water.
Consistency – To ensure your beverages taste the same day in and day out, from one location to the next. There is a saying in foodservice – You can feed ’em crap, just keep it consistent!
Carbonation – microscopic dirt particles, too small for the human eye to see, are naturally present in water. Those small particles of dirt will kill carbonation causing drinks to go flat. In addition to causing abrasion in equipment.
Understanding Chloramines:
- Chloramines is chlorine bonded with ammonia. This provides more stability for better disinfection over long distances in pipe lines
- Like chlorine, chloramines is used to make water safe to drink by killing organisms, bacteria and viruses that cause waterborne illnesses
- Chloramines can be used as a primary disinfectant in lieu of chlorine
- Your water supply may have been switched to chloramines and this may explain any tastes issues that you are having
- It lasts two to three days instead of just a few hours for free chlorine
- Also, because it is less likely to create byproducts such as THM’s, it helps municipalities to meet new guidelines for drinking water quality
- Most importantly, it’s a cost effective disinfection solution
- All CLM+ systems are certified NSF/ANSI Standard 42
