CLM for Chloramines

The 7CLM and XCLM cartridges are made from a specialized carbon formulation which maximizes the volume of activated carbon to provide a combination of optimal chloramines reduction with improved product life in a single cartridge. Reducing chloramines, chlorine taste & odour and other offensive contaminants that can adversely affect the taste of beverages.

Superior filtration filters dirt and particles as small as 5 microns in size. Sanitary cartridge replacement is simple, quick and clean. Internal filter parts are never exposed to handling or contamination. NSF/ANSI Standard 42 certified.

As with all Everpure quick-change cartridges, the 7CLM and XCLM are compatible with all models of QC7i, Coldrink®, High Flow CSR, QL2*, QL3B* and QL3* Heads.

What are chloramines?

A small amount of ammonia added to chlorine, forming an inorganic compound (NH2Cl) like chlorine, it is a disinfectant that makes water safe to drink by killing organisms, bacteria and viruses.  Can be used as a primary disinfectant in place of chlorine, or as a “shock” treatment.

Why are municipalities switching to chloramines?
Doesn’t dissipate as readily as chlorine gas, so it provides disinfection to the far ends of the municipal
pipe lines and also changes to the EPA’s Safe Drinking Water Act Chlorine reacts with naturally occurring organics to create byproducts such as trihalomethanes (THM).  Most importantly, it’s a cost-effective disinfection solution.
